The Villas at Water’s Edge

Sure, I’ve spent some lovely evenings on the deck at Water’s Edge for cocktails, live reggae and ocean breezes, but it’s never occurred to me to stay there. Until now. Their brand new Villas by the Sea would make for a luxe Shoreline getaway. Set closer to the beach than the rest of the rooms, these two bedroom condos, available by the night, are glam by Shoreline standards. The living room with pull out couch and dining area sport understated but modern decor; the granite-sheathed kitchen is all Viking appliances and stainless. The bedrooms are a tranquil oasis of calm. Both baths are clad in green glass subway tile and white marble, with Kohler fixtures and a jetted soaking tub (photo). Just in case the private balcony and panoramic LI Sound view aren’t enough to keep you occupied, four flat panel TVs and a gas fireplace should.

The Villas sleep up to six, are smack on the water and include all the resort amenities: daily maid service, gym, spa, indoor pool, tennis courts, kids program, three restaurants, a new frozen yogurt shop and live music Wednesdays through Sundays. Or you need never leave the room: dial up a personal chef or in-room spa treatments. You can snag a villa for an opening special of $500 per night during the week and $750 on the weekends. Not inexpensive for sure, but much less dear than other high end waterfront accommodations in the area.
