Some of us need someone to hold our hand while we purge our lives of accumulated detritus. (That’s when we call Ellen Madere of Ellen Gets It Done). But once you’ve actually made the decision to get rid of all that crap, what to do? There are a number of charitable organizations on the Shoreline who will be happy to rid you of your excess. Homeward Bound Treasures: this is a fantastic organization which supports the homeless in southeastern CT.
Safe Futures: Donations to this organization benefit abused women and their children.
Books can be donated to your local library. Most are thrilled to receive them, and if they do not sell your contributions, they may select some to be put in their collection! Or try: Book Barn Niantic and Network of Care.
A great place to take old towels are your local veterinarian or the Valley Shore Animal Welfare League:

Simply Sharing is a local charitable organization that provides home furnishings, helping local families get a fresh start. They’ll pick up, too!
