Niantic’s New Cala Studio: Serenity Head Spa & Russian Pedicures
Posted On : August 17, 2026
If you’re the kind of person who wishes the shampoo portion of your hair appointment would never end, this is the treatment for you. Settle into a cozy private room for an hour of total relaxation, tucked beneath a warm blanket, with your head cradled comfortably above a sink basin while your practitioner works her magic. Enjoy gentle cleansing, an indulgent scalp massage, a hydrating hair mask, aromatherapy, and steam therapy, as warm water cascades like a halo over your hair between each step.
It’s a deeply soothing, luxurious reset. Choose from a menu of treatments tailored to your needs, from detoxifying and deeply hydrating therapies to stress-reducing, soothing massages. Good to know: Add a blowout afterward and step back into your day with completely refreshed hair.
While Laura drifted away with the Serenity Head Spa, I indulged in a Russian pedicure. This precise dry treatment uses an electric file to whisk away dead skin and calluses before polish or gel is applied. Because I’m lazy about self-care, I love that the results can last for 4 to 6 weeks.
The only catch? It takes a leisurely 1½ to 2 hours. But that’s hardly a hardship in this zen setting. A super-comfy lounge chair, electric eye and temple massager (!), soothing foot and leg massage, exfoliation, fancy mocktail—and my audiobook—kept me from fidgeting. Consider it a pedicure crossed with a mini vacation.
Head Spa services start at the Serenity Spa (45 Minutes) for $95 to the Luxury Signature Head Spa (1 hour and 45 minutes) for $200.
Russian Pedicure starts at $106
