Hankering for a hair-cut in a good old-fashioned barbershop? There’s a new one in town, but old-fashioned doesn’t exactly describe it. The airy space sports bright red leather chairs, wide screen TV’s, and (free!) craft beer on tap, with Kevin Edward offering gentleman’s cuts, little gentleman’s cuts, hot razor shaves and even facials for men. Also on offer is a package for groomsmen including hot shaves and beer. The guys need a little pampering, too!

A new and extraordinary experience in Old Saybrook is The “Gentleman’s Barber Shop” located at 787 Boston Post RoadThe owner/barber is Kevin Edward who is assisted by his wife, Rebecca, and cute little Labradoodle rescue dog. We moved to Old Lyme from Long Island 14 years ago and until now have driven 2 hours back there to have my hair cut at the salon that I have been going to forever. Not any more! Kevin Edward brings new meaning to outstanding customer service, superb haircut skills, and wonderful environment. He spent 45 minutes cutting my hair using only scissors (exactly as I had asked), then pulled out a shaving mug, brush, and razor to polish off the last few unruly hairs. Just when I thought I was finished, Kevin gives me a neck and shoulder massage. All of this for $25. I left with a great haircut and feeling like I had been to a spa.
