In need of some pampering? Head straight to Sanno, the luxury spa at the Saybrook Point Inn. After check-in, you’re escorted to a serene changing room and handed a fluffy robe and slippers. Next stop, plop down fireside in the lounge, with a cup of herbal tea (or prosecco if you prefer), to wait for your aesthetician. I would have been perfectly happy hanging there for the rest of the day, but Angela arrived promptly on time. While there are plenty of therapies to choose from, my facial, an Eminence Arctic Berry Peel & Illuminating Peptide, seemed like just the ticket for my dry, aging skin. I learned quite a bit about skin care from Angela, not the least of which was the difference between an Aesthetician and an Esthetician (I always thought it was just a variation of the spelling), but an Aesthetician has completed more training. Angela is an Aesthetician and obviously LOVES her job. I asked for an explanation as she went along and she cheerfully complied. After a quick steam and a good scrub with a Clarisonic (might have to get me one of those) to allow for deeper penetration of lotions and serums, she applied the organic peeling mask. The peel stimulates the collagen, brightens the skin, and lifts fine lines and wrinkles. I loved the application of Eminence’s Hibiscus Instant Line Filler so much, I bought it (after promising myself NO MORE skin care products). I saw the results immediately; it blurred the lines on my forehead and those dreaded “elevens” between the eyes. The peel is recommended every four to six weeks, and I will definitely be heading back for more Angela.  Arctic Berry Peel and Illuminating Peptide facial is $140.
