Not Wallpaper
I love the IDEA of DIY, but I’m always disappointed with the outcome. I’m just not crafty! Always on the lookout for a project that might end happily, I stumbled across Connecticut based, Not Wallpaper on Etsy. Using their ingenious paint rollers, fashioned after vintage ones, you can create sweet designs on your walls, gift wrap, furniture or whatever else you crafty people dream up. Always a fan of wintry, reindeer-bedecked scenes, I snapped up “Aspen”, tied on an apron and set to it. And, voila! It’s as easy as they say it is! Here’s my first attempt, so you can see for yourself. Using some leftover wall paint, and after a swipe on some practice paper, I rolled out this canvas in a sec. I’ve since learned how to match up the lines and I wouldn’t be anxious about rolling a small room. I just might give the guest bath a fresh new look with their Woodgrain roller at a FRACTION of the price of papering. An instructional video would be nice, but it’s easy to figure out from the included instructions. Good to know: I reversed the order of patterned roller and foam roller from the picture on their site. www.etsy.com/shop/NotWallpaper
