This is not news: people around here are dog crazy. Everyone I know has at least one pooch (and most folks have more). Me, I’m an unlikely dog owner. I’m allergic and my decor is mainly white. But my only daughter insisted on a puppy and you know how that story goes. He thinks I birthed him. He doesn’t let me out of his sight. Ever. And, yes, I adore Bruno. He is the most elegant dog (spoken like a true dog-lover). So much so, that I think a portrait is in order! I recently stumbled on Jaime LaDucer. She’s known for her chalkboard art, hand-lettering and wedding invites, but has recently expanded her repertoire to include pet portraits. She paints from a photo, can add any embellishment you dream up (crown? banner?), and in practically no time you’ll have a charming portrait. I dunno about you, but I’m getting on her list ASAP. Price: $300 to $400 for a 16 x 20″ painting, custom sizing available, turnaround is two months or less.
