Safely Distant Mani Pedi at Tina Perma Beauty Spa
Despite the shabby condition of my fingers and toes, I’ve been in no rush to run out to a populated (even socially distant) nail salon. Lucky for me, and anyone else who’s been holding out for fresh polish, Tina Perma Beauty Spa is open and ready for business, by appointment. Tucked behind Starbucks, on the corner of Main Street and Route 1 in Old Saybrook, now lives this sweet, small spa with just enough room for a few guests at a time. Tina Huynh brought her years of experience in owning a more personalized beauty spa to Connecticut from New Hampshire earlier this year. She specializes in permanent makeup tatooing and offers all manner of treatments from waxing to lashes. It’s easy to get an appointment by sending an email or text and she’ll get you right in. I opted for the Spa Pedicure – a luxurious medley of lavender leaves and oil, hot stone massage, callus removal, and a spiffy paint job. I couldn’t leave without a manicure. Feeling so renewed and determined to keep up with just the simplest of self-care, I booked my next appointment and was on my way.
