This summer, you’ll find a tasty pop-up on the dock across the street from Engine Room in Mystic. The unstoppable 85th Day Food Community, in collaboration with Mystic Oysters, presents a seasonal shack offering Southern-style seafood boils, slow-smoked pulled pork sandwiches, and of course, the freshest oysters.

We grabbed a seat in the early afternoon where we happily slurped a half dozen oysters and chilly white wine while watching the boats bob in the Mystic River. Next, we devoured the perfect Banh Mi Sandwich (Carolina pulled pork with pickled veggies, chili mayo, and cilantro) with creamy, tangy potato salad on the side. We will be back for a seafood boil filled with andouille sausage, corn and potatoes and a choice of oysters, shrimp, snow crab or all of the above. Options for the picky eaters here, too. The menu offers hot dogs, sunbutter and jelly sandwiches, plus key lime pie and ice cream.
